The flax plant, a slender annual, growing up to a metre in height with blue flowers, was first used as a fibre for weaving, and still remains the source of natural linen fabric. However it has also been renowned for centuries for its medicinal properties. Both the oil from the seeds, also known as Linseeds, and also the seeds themselves are used for therapeutic purposes.
